Using your readings, the Capella library, the Internet, or other sources, select what would be considered a successful project as well as a failed project (business or IT). Write 1–2 pages in which you analyze each project and identify attributes of success and failure.
Part 2: Comparing and Contrasting Operations Management Versus Project Management
There is a difference between operations management and project management in today’s organizational environment. Review the differences between operations management and project management. Using your readings, the Capella library, the Internet, or other sources, analyze the differences between operations management and project management and write 1–2 pages outlining the differences using either business or IT-related examples.
Part 3: Evaluate the Similarities and Differences Between the Three Categories of Project Management
You have been asked to train company interns in the basics of project management concepts.
There are three distinct categories of project management that possess unique qualities and characteristics:
- Project Management.
- Program Management.
- Portfolio Management.
Study the characteristics of all three categories, and in 1–2 pages summarize the similarities and differences for an intern assigned to your company. Provide specific examples of each category using either business or IT-related examples.
